Carolina Hemp Hut was built with healing in mind. It was also first created to address the problems of our customers.
When we combined these aspects and opened our first dedicated dispensary in Orange County, NC in the town of Hillsborough. We had originally tested our concept in the City of Durham, NC at the Streets at Southpoint Mall with our Hemp Wellness products (including CBD). We knew the Mall would NOT be a suitable location for long term, but the location allowed for us to have a great proof of concept.
This was the first dispensary opened by Mary Lopez Carter south of Downtown Historic Hillsborough. This location was chosen to keep the affordability and convenience high for more people. We use this location as the test location for nearly all new cannabinoid creations such as those with THCa, CBG, and THC Gummies. When people are looking for the “Near me” then we try to be conveniently near most. This is why we are not Chapel Hill or Carrboro. We have looked for locations in that area that meet our strict overall standards and have yet to find one that suits our mission of helping others.
We have found that helping a broader audience in Orange County has made it easier for areas all around Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Hillsborough benefit from the great location for the Hemp Hut Hillsborough location.
The new Durham location just off of US Highway 15/501 (which is also called Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard) was ideal since it allowed for easier access to a broader customer base across Central and Western portions of Durham, but it helped us with ready access to our distribution teams.
Again, location helped us keep our prices lower and quality higher than our typical competitors in some parts of our market.
