What is Hemp Seed Oil?

What is Hemp Seed Oil

In our earlier article on Hemp Oil, we examined its source and its commonly attributed benefits. We discussed a little about “What exactly is hemp oil?”

We considered it’d be very helpful to present the most commonly asked questions with regard to Hemp Oil and its cousin, Hemp Oil Extract (including CBD).

What is hemp oil good for?

Hempseed oil is often referred to as “hemp oil,” and it’s harvested by cold-pressing hemp seeds. Hemp seeds, as you may already know, are the seeds of the Cannabis plants. In the United States, the most common seed products come from the Cannabis Sativa plants. Hemp seeds have a rich nutrient profile, lots of good fats and fatty acids and carries a wide range of nutrients. Hemp seed oil can help skin health, inflammation, brain & hearth health. Hemp seed oil is a worthy addition into anyone’s diet.

Is hemp oil and CBD oil the same thing?

Hemp Oil is often also called Hempseed Oil. It’s very often confused with Hemp Oil Extract. Although the pressed hemp seeds result in very nutritious and beneficial anti-inflammatory properties in Hemp Oil, they’re NOT the same thing as CBD. Cannabidiol or CBD is just one of the many cannabinboids found within the extract from the flowers and often the stems and leaves (whole plant extract). CBD and the other cannabinoids have shown great promise in assisting with discomfort from many physical and psychological problems.Carolina Hemp Hut offers CBD and Hemp products Near Me

Does Hemp Oil help you sleep?

It’s possible to find retailers claiming that hemp oil aids in sleep or that it makes you sleepy. While the jury is still out on how effective CBD and related cannabinoids are for sleep, there has been no proof that hemp seed extract or hemp oil is useful for improving sleep directly.

Is Hemp Oil safe to take?

Since Hemp Oil is different from CBD and other cannabinoids resulting from the extract of the aerial parts of the Hemp Plant, it’s both readily available and legal in all 50 States. Many people find it useful in salads and recipes as it assists in boosting beneficial Omega fatty acids. As with other diet-related oils, Hemp Oil is safe to take as long as too much is not consumed at one time. This may often result in diarrhea or intestinal discomfort.

What are the benefits of Hemp Oil?

Hemp Seed Oil has a significant amount of naturally occurring linoleic acid and oleic acids. These are known to play a vital role in skin health and anti-aging. Since these cannot be produced by humans naturally, inclusion of hemp seed oil in the diet is beneficial. Hemp Seed oil, however, is exceptional with its inclusion of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), which acts as a powerful anti-inflammatory while simultaneously encouraging skin growth and new cell generation. Skin care products containing hemp seed oil are likely to improve skin health better than non-GLA oils.

Is Hemp Oil useful to treat pain?

Hemp Seed Oil may help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as we age. More significant benefits may appear due to the natural anti-inflammatory aspects of the GLA along with the other Omega-3 fatty acids. If you’re suffering from eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, or similar, then hemp seed oil may be an important and helpful weapon in your health arsenal. While the anti-inflammatory properties of hemp oil are wonderful, there’s limited abatement from discomfort in most cases.

Is Hemp Oil good for a beauty regimen or skin care?

Absolutely. The naturally occurring lionoleic acid and oleic acids help with skin care immensely. The oil acts as a mild anti-inflammatory agent while working naturally with the skin – not clogging pores as many people would expect. Plus, it’s lower price point as compared to over the counter and premium beauty products makes is a good choice for a more natural and affordable approach to health and beauty.

Hemp Day Video: Drug Testing could Get you Fired for CBD, Learn what to do First!

What happens when you get Drug Tested when taking CBD?

What Can Your HR Department do?

Let's say you're working for Corporate America. No harm there, unless your organization has a habit of doing drug testing. The typical drug test seeks to discover whether you're taking illegal drugs such as Cocaine, Meth, Marijuana and CBD.

Wait, what?

Not really. CBD or Cannibidiol isn't actively targeted in the drug testing in nearly all test kits available. However, most of us know that THC is the targeted "drug" from Hemp or Marijuana. The people who take the time to understand the biology associated with Hemp understand that CBD is NOT the psychoactive component within the Hemp plant.

It's been shown where THC is beneficial to our health. This article isn't to sing the praises of THC, but I suggest that you search within Google or another search engine for benefits of THC from medical publications (use PubMed in the search string).

Mary Lòpez Carter has been advocating for broader acceptance of CBD in the workplace. Because some CBD products contain THC (legal limit of .3% THC), it's possible some drug tests will "pop" for showing THC in your system. Are you a drug user at this point? Not really. You have part of the overall spectrum of cannabinoids in your system. CBD = Good. THC = Bad. According to the law.

As mentioned before, THC has been shown to be beneficial (visit the reports). But if you have it in your system, you could be in dire straights with your employer if you test positive for it - including when your CBD has a very small amount of THC in it. How can you avoid the trouble of CBD (especially the "full spectrum oils which also include THC in trace amounts)?

Proactive Steps for You to Follow

It's Key to Be Proactive.

  1. Speak with your Medical Professional and Get a Note detailing you're taking CBD Oil.
  2. Inform your HR department (great if done in writing, paper trail) and show the Dr. Note.
  3. Buy trusted CBD Oil that may be full spectrum, but offers below the legal limit of .3% THC

In my video, I mentioned a very exciting product coming soon to Hemp Oil Rockstar. It's a No THC Full Spectrum offering. For those of you who are purists in the terminology, you're likely to argue that "No, this is broad spectrum" and you may be correct from your viewpoint. We're glad that there's technology that allows for the full entourage effect without people worrying over whether they will "pop" in drug tests. Be on the look out soon for our Zero THC products at Hemp Oil Rockstar and Carolina Hemp Huts.

Hemp is helping People across the country

"I see you have CBD, what is that?"

At our Main retail store for Carolina Hemp Hut (Located in the Streets at Southpoint Mall in Durham, NC), I get a lot of customer queries. One of the most popular questions I get asked is "What is CBD Oil or Hemp Oil?"

I'm happy to answer this question and I hope to dispel some myths about CBD and Hemp Oil.

Note: The new store's Grand Opening (Oct 27) Celebration is open to all as it is designed to let people know about not only the store, but about what Hemp Oil MAY offer to people. We still operate the website for the store (https://CarolinaHempHut.com) and the main store site at https://hempoilrockstar.com If you're curious about CBD Oil and #HempOil extracts, then I'm hoping this video will present a primer for you and your friends.

Hemp Day Video: The Three (3) Key Questions you need to Ask Your Hemp Oil Extract Retailer

CBD near me - We have CBD in North Carolina

What do You know about Your Hemp Oil?

Mary Carter, Hemp Oil consultant, covers three key questions that you should ask before buying your CBD/Hemp Oil from any retailer. These three simple questions will help you become more aware of the quality available in Hemp Oil. Mary's learned that these three questions will assist any buyer of Hemp Oil to be better aware of the product and not as easily fall for bad product sales.

Mary Carter presents the 3 Key Questions You should Ask

If you're not able to see the video, you may try viewing it here on Hemp Oil Rockstar's Facebook page.

Choosing The Best Hemp Oil

I've often told the story about how I selected the best hemp oil extract for my retail stores. There truly are a lot of hemp oils available on the market. Some are horrible and really a waste of money and others are super-premium all around.

The three questions I used within the Hemp Day video are just three of the many questions and qualifiers that I followed when it came to deciding on the best product mix. I'll likely make a full video of the process I followed. In the interim, be sure to check out all of my Hemp Day Videos and come in to the Streets at Southpoint Mall and visit with us at our Store Kiosk, "The Carolina Hemp Hut".

Beware of Trial Offers in CBD

CBD Free Trial Offer Scammers

How to tell if you found a CBD or similar Scam: My story of one Scammer.

I'm writing this article (and filmed the accompanying video) based upon real-life experiences. The best stories are grounded in reality. Right? I had to do some homework to learn more about how to tell if you found a CBD or Hemp Oil scam.

If you've heard any of Mary Carter's (Mary Carter is my wife and she's the founder of Hemp Oil Rockstar and Carolina Hemp Hut), then you may know that the primary reason she dove into the CBD world is because she was worried that my cancer would return. A little less than two years ago, Mary got me going with CBD Oil from a vendor recommended by an acquaintance. This new oil was very expensive (about $130 for less than a month's usage).

I was filling in time while watching a show with my wife. My iPad was in my lap and I was cruising the web in search of CBD for cheap. I found site that had all of the requisite language and pretty pictures. Star Trial CBD was calling me. It was late in the evening and to my benefit, I wasn't supposed to be buying anything. I didn't have my reading glasses on. I shouldn't have even considered looking at the ad for this CBD oil.

But, I did.

Star CBD is just one example of the Same Crooks, different name

The Real Deal with CBD Trial Offers

The CBD Oil which you can buy from Carolina Hemp Hut, Hemp Oil Rockstar, Charlotte's Web and others is going to come from reputable farms, reputable refiners and from reputable retailers. SOME of the CBD that comes from some shops, however, leaves a lot to be desired.

Some retailers have been buying CBD oil in concentrate (from isolate or from spectrum). They take this relatively strong isolate and blend the CBD oil with various calculated amounts of things like MCT (think, cleaned up coconut oil), sunflower seed oil or another carrier oil. This process is actually normal. Again, the reputable vendors will make sure that their oil sold matches the strength and the content (you'd be surprised that the shady providers will often "water down" their oils to considerably less than the stated strength).

The Star brand of CBD Oil is from an isolate. It's also very weak (100 mg of CBD only). This means it's packaged with carrier oils. Thus, the 1 oz bottle that they package this oil within is really a 1 oz bottle of carrier oil with a drop or few of concentrated CBD Oil isolate. Gimmicky advertising and names like "Hemp Pure" or "Pure CBD" are therefore a bit misleading. It's not pure CBD Oil.

The Trial Offer programs will sign you up to a "buying club" of sorts with your trial offer. The prices of the various scamming offers on the web do vary, but they're typically around $5.00 a bottle.

Along comes the Spider

"Wow, CBD Oil for only $4.95?!" Yes, you can bet I was excited. With my addled view (recall that I didn't have my reading glasses on - so, screw the fine print) I could clearly see I get a bottle of CBD oil in a free bottle to try out. Well, I needed CBD oil - so SIGN ME UP!

Big mistake.

Simple Steps to spotting a CBD Scam

  1. Look for Attractive Character. Is it a "Lab Coat Cutie"? Here's one now.
    CBD Scam
  2. Look for Terms and Conditions. READ these. Absolutely. Here's a sample of the hidden scam text:
    CBD Scam Free Trial Offer
    CBD Scam Free Trial Offer
  3. Look for unlinked review links and fake testimonials.Fake Facebook reviews in CBD Scam
All of the above clues should be clear to you after reading this article. We're keen on helping people STOP GETTING RIPPED OFF by slimy hidden operations selling anything - especially CBD which we work hard to offer as a very reliable vendor. Be a smart consumer. Do your research and even CALL the Vendor. If you can't talk to them, don't buy from them. This alone is a good policy to keep you safer than ever.

When Free Isn't Free

I actually received the product that they had specified. However, it wasn't in a fancy cardboard box like it was in the photos on the web site. I didn't get crazy of this though. The product was the 100mg bottle of CBD oil. Just the bottle. I slid the bottle back into it's padded envelope and tossed it aside - I had lots of work to do and the bottle was not a priority.

A couple of weeks later, as I finally had some spare time, I opened the package again and read the bottle of CBD oil. It dawned on me that it was only 100 mg when I bought it. But, I figured that $5 was worth it. The $5 wasn't all though.

My credit card statement revealed that I was charged for the shipping and handling fee of $4.95. I also was charged a few days later for a "membership fee". Uh, what?

To add insult to injury, I receive a second bottle of 100mg oil and a shocking charge of nearly $100 on my Credit Card statement. This drove me to action. I ended up taking care of the transaction and canceling everything with the "staff" at this company (it was Star brand, but the call center sounds like a sweatshop filled with people taking complaint calls). The mail order company had a clever trial gimmick which captured people within a "club" which has a monthly fee and the product cost which was exorbitant.

I learned from this experience. Now I carefully read the terms and conditions of all "memberships" and order fine print. I grab my reading glasses when I see something that's "too good to be true." Since it's often too good to be true, I am safer being more of a stickler to the details.

If you'd like a list of Scam centered Trial Basis companies, let me know in the comments and I will get the list emailed to you. I keep making additions to the list - this way more people are aware.

US Farm Bill allows for Broader legalization of Hemp and products

US Farm Bill FDA Trump CBD

What the Bill Reveals

In the Agricultural Act of 2014 (“Farm Bill”) regarding industrial hemp, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and other organizations were given the "green light" to go ahead with pilot programs to allow for hemp to be sold. This led to the adoption by many States of pilot programs to permit growing of the hemp plants in their jurisdictions. This is what provides the lion's share of legal status for hemp and hemp products (such as CBD).

The term “industrial hemp” includes the plant Cannabis sativa L. and any part or derivative of such plant, including seeds of such plant, whether growing or not, that is used exclusively for industrial purposes (fiber and seed) with a tetrahydrocannabinols concentration of not more than 0.3 percent on a dry weight basis. The term “tetrahydrocannabinols” includes all isomers, acids, salts, and salts of isomers of tetrahydrocannabinols.

Every five years, Congress passes legislation that sets national agriculture, nutrition, conservation, and forestry policy, commonly referred to as the “Farm Bill”. In this year's version, many amendments (as will happen with our Congress) were added. The one with the real teeth was Mitch McConnell's amendment. This one more openly allows for Hemp legalization (far more than allowed under the 2014 Farm Bill). Although the final passage of this bill has not hit the goal line with the House's version, many are hopeful that it will so it can be signed quickly into law by President Donald Trump.

Hemp Day Video: Drug Testing and CBD Oil from Hemp

Passing a Drug Test is a worry? What will a Urine Test reveal?

Are you worried about whether you will pass a Drug Test after taking Hemp Oil with CBD? Have you heard about the horror stories of people getting penalized because they're not smoking pot but taking Hemp Oil for aches, pains or some other condition of discomfort - and they're worried about the drug test at work? There are a 6 points you need to know about this worry.

I'll help you understand where the pitfalls are and what you can do to avoid trouble from this "simple misunderstanding" - Don't be penalized for doing something that is NOT ILLEGAL.

Don’t let Your CBD healthy and Legal Habit get you into Legal Trouble

A urinary test procedure for identification of cannabidiol in patients undergoing medical therapy with marijuana

Marijuana is classified by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) as Schedule I, drugs having no accepted medical value. Twenty-three states and the District of Columbia have legalized medical marijuana. This conflict inhibits physicians from prescribing marijuana and the systematic study of marijuana in medical care. This study concerns the use of the clinical laboratory as a resource for physicians recommending cannabidiol (CBD) to patients, or for patients using medical marijuana. Marijuana containing delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is psychoactive.

However, CBD is not psychoactive. CBD is reported to have medical benefit for seizure control, neurologic disorders including multiple sclerosis, neuropathic pain and pain associated with cancer.

It was revealed that the studies DID SHOW that CBD with trace THC can caused positives even though the user is taking CBD legally and the THC within that Hemp Oil is well within the legal limits of .3%. This information may be rendered moot should President Donald Trump sign into law a passed Farm Bill (2018) which includes the intact amendment from Mitch McConnell (R-Ky). More on this topic will be reported by the team at Hemp Oil Rockstar.

For more information on the government report covering the outcomes of the testing, visit here.
