The Healing Hemp Team at the Hut: Our Story of Resilience and Purpose
Carolina Hemp Hut was born in Hillsborough from something deeply personal. When our founder Mary’s husband was diagnosed with brain cancer, she began researching natural ways to support his health. That journey led her to CBD, and the more she learned, the more she saw how much it was helping others with chronic conditions and emotional wellness. She felt called to share that knowledge, and our original Hillsborough shop became the home for that mission.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we leaned into our role as a community resource. One of our employees put her sewing skills to work, and together we made over 1,000 cloth masks, donating more than 30% of them to local immunocompromised customers and the Hillsborough Police Department. We stayed open through it all, not just as a store, but as a support system. That spirit still drives us today. We are dedicated to our customers and their health.
